From April 13 to 15, representatives of the NGO "All-Ukrainian Association of Trauma Surgery and Rehabilitation" took part in the annual ECTES (European Congress of Trauma & Emergency Surgery) congress, which was held this year in Aachen, Germany. Ukraine was worthily represented at the congress by a delegation of about 20 Ukrainian orthopedic traumatologists, including two military doctors who work directly in front-line hospitals. Their experience is invaluable and aroused special interest in the international medical community.
The President of the Association, Professor Mykola Ankin, made a report on the experience of surgical treatment of civilian and military wounded in war conditions. In his speech, he shared unique clinical cases, the peculiarities of the work of Ukrainian surgeons in extremely difficult conditions, as well as the challenges faced by the healthcare system in war conditions.
Professor Ankin also gave an interview to the authoritative German publication STIMME, in which he spoke about the daily courage and dedication of Ukrainian doctors on the front lines and in the rear.
Together with the President of the Association, our active representatives Viktoriya Ladyka and Volodymyr Kovalchuk participated in the congress. The team presented two poster presentations dedicated to: analysis of factors affecting the treatment of hip fractures; the main causes of deep vein thrombosis in patients with hip fractures.
The congress became an excellent platform for networking, exchange of experience and establishment of new partnerships with leading European specialists. There was a lot of meaningful communication, and we received invitations to joint scientific and educational projects.
Ukraine sounds in the world - confident, professional, dignified. And we continue to work to strengthen the professional community, support our patients and maintain the medical front!
